Crisp Apple Strudel

Our local theatre group is doing a production of,

The Sound of Music.

To celebrate the event, our center for the arts is having an exhibit of artist's interpretations of one of the lines from the song, "My Favorite Things".

I chose, "Crisp Apple Strudel".

Being fairly new to soft pastels, I only had a collection of odds and ends from the art cabinet in our art room here in the community where I live.  They were dirty and quite hard, actually.

However, I managed to come away with a satisfactory painting.

I have since ordered myself some Rembrandt Soft Pastels.  They are not the softest, but to begin, I want to stay with a more hard soft pastel...I don't want to make mud.

So today I have to wire this framed work for hanging and get it down to the center. It will hang in the collection for two months.

Update...here I am with my painting. at the Reception.  I finally got to see it hanging up!

Enjoy your day, and until we meet again,

Crafty Ladies!

My very first,
"Scarlett O'Hara's Craft Room" class!

Everyone was so enthusiastic and energetic..we all made some new crafty friends.

Here's what we made...

It was a beautiful day, and we worked inside and out.

We even had a couple of visitors, who joined right in with the laughter.

Hope they'll join in next time!

My next class is in November. I'll post pictures of the upcoming projects soon.

Until we meet again,

More Pastels

I am in love...with pastels.

And George, of course!

So much color, so easily.

This is what it looked like the week before, when I was halfway through...

Going from dark to light...then two hours later, DONE!

Being the perfectionist that I am, I probably would have fussed with this a bit more, but time restraints of the class brought an end to it.

Please leave me a comment...your thoughts are an important part of my process.

Until next time,
