Happy Thoughts Coming Your Way!

I am sure we all want to get the most out of our stamps. That's why I decided to use this Christmas set to make a happy everyday card. This way you can see it's versatility!

So here is my happy card. Everyone needs to be cheered up once in awhile.

The stamps are from two different sets that are offered by Flourishes...
Glory to God
glory to god
and
Happy Thoughts
I randomed stamped the background here and there with the flower from Glory to God, using Versamark Ink, then clear embossed it. I then rubbed ink all the card face using Old Paper Distress Ink.

I repeated this process two more times, using darker inks as I went. I used Crushed Olive and then stamped with Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. Using a baby wipe, I removed any ink residue from the embosses images.

I cut a piece of vellum, using Flourishes, "Perfectly Pierced Classic Hourglass Die Set."

Perfectly Pierced Classic Hourglass Die Set
I stamped the two mirror image flowers from the Christmas set onto the Vellum with Olive CTMH ink. I also used CTMH black ink to stamp the sentiment from the Happy Thoughts set.

I love brads, even though they have been around forever! Gold cardstock was used to mat the background.  Another neat trick I just love using is to melt ribbon to give it an aged look. I melted this organza ribbon with my heat tool and attached it with glue dots.

Finally, a tiny bit of gold Stickles was used to speckle the background, along with some
metallic gold oil pastels, which I rubbed around some of the flower images.

Fuji Mum

Markers and pencils are my best friends.
I just love coloring...always have.

Using my mix of Prismacolor markers and Spectrum Noirs, along with my
Prismacolor Premier Pencils, I really enjoyed coloring this Fuji Mum.

This will be a part of the new set coming out at Flourishes.
I am the Resident Artist there.

I hope you will stay tuned for my stamp sets coming soon!

Happy Birthday Lily!

It's my granddaughter's birthday soon, so I made a card with her in mind. She's only going to be 6, but she is such a little lady these days...grown up so much in the last year.

I used a Christmas set from Flourishes, to show that these sets are versatile...not just for Christmas.

harp

I used the small corner flower. I actually cut the stamp in half, which I do quite often. It's easier than dealing with the rest of the stamp, and you can always put them back together on a block.

I still had to do a bit of masking with a post-it note as I went along, stamping them in
Close To My Heart's Champagne ink,
and turning them this way and that to make a chain of sorts.

I colored them with Prismacolor markers and then with Prismacolor Premier pencils. I blended a bit with a blending marker.

Fussy cutting is never a big deal to me, as I love to cut...it's like therapy. I also love to ink the edges of EVERYTHING so you will notice that on nearly every element of this card.
I used the die set from Flourishes called, "Perfectly Pierced Classic Frames", and offset the sentiment frame. The sentiment is from an older Flourishes set.

I added some glittery ribbon and pearls.

I really hope this card hangs around for awhile...maybe on the 'fridge.

Well, keep watching for my new stamp line from Flourishes...

Are You Scared Yet?

Using recycled materials, I have created a 12-inch Scary House using my Cricut Machine. This is going to be my very first, "Pin This" class, to be held at the Leesburg Center for the Arts, here in Florida.

Last year, I offered a class to make three little Winter card/ornaments/gifts using a similar technique.

This house can be tented over a battery operated candle, and looks so scary lit up!
Ha-ha-ha...Eeek!
If you live in my area, check out the class page here on this blog. You can find the link at the top in the bar.

Enjoy your day, and be sure to stay tuned for my new stamp sets coming out in September for Flourishes!

Harp the Herald Angels Sing

I know, I know, that's not how the song goes,
but this Harp Stamp Set by Flourishes makes me want to sing!

I embossed with clear embossing powder, then inked like crazy with a sponge.

Notice the lovely flourish on either side of the instruments.
I stamped it in dark brown ink.

The flourish is included in the set.
