Friday with Flourishes

Hello and welcome to my studio.

I am so excited to be the Artist in Residence at the new Flourishes!
Every Friday our Senior Design Team is challenged by one of the designers on the team.

For today's blog hop, Rebecca Ednie has challenged the team to use:

Pastel Colors

I have the great pleasure of using one of my favorite stamp sets:
Must Be Santa:

Today's card images are colored with Spectrum Noir Markers with a bit of
Distress Ink by Ranger around the edges .

The beautiful blue cardstock is from the Color Made Easy collection,
which can be purchased in the Flourishes store.

The sentiment is a little poem I wrote to add to the
Christmas Sentiments Set

This set was inspired by the old tune:

Who very soon will come our way
Santa very soon will come our way

Eight little reindeer pull his sleigh
Santa's little reindeer pull his sleigh

Reindeer sleigh, come our way
HO HO HO, cherry nose
Cap on head, suit that's red
Special night, beard that's white

Must be Santa

Fourishes October Release Day 4

Hello, and welcome to my studio...

It's the forth day of the Flourishes October Release.

We are featuring,
Hanukkah, illustrated by me, Beverly Cole.

I random stamped the background with the Star of David in navy ink.

I embossed the menorah in silver, along with the sentiment.

I sprayed it with pearlescent spray to give the card an all over sheen.

White brads and a piece of silver elastic twine finish off the card.

Flourishes October Release Hop Day 3

Hello, and welcome to my studio...

It's the second day of the Flourishes October Release.

We are featuring,
Go Tell it on the Mountain by Lauren Pope.

I used Authentique designer paper from the Flourishes Store.

I also used one of the sentiments from a new set that we will feature on Friday...

So stay tuned!

I used Prismacolor Pencils to color the image, and added a bit of ribbon.

This stamp doesn't need much help...it stands strong on its own!

Flourishes Friday Design Team Challenge Hop

Hello and welcome to my studio!

Today's Design Team challenge is by Linda Lucas.
She has challenged our team with,
"Let's get Sentiment-al"

The technique I decided to use, I learned from Jennifer McGuire. Using my newest toy, the Misti.

I was able to repeat the sentiment with ease, using the ruler on the Misti.

I masked the image after stamping and coloring it with Prismacolor markers, and then proceeded to stamp the sentiment over and over, moving the card 1/4 inch at a time. I know, the spacing is a little off, but is was my first time using this amazing tool.

The stamp set I used is one I illustrated exclusively for Flourishes. It's called,

winter-blooms-set-13-watermarked-3

Be sure to visit the rest of the team to see more amazing cards focusing on sentiments.

Flourishes Design Team Friday Challenge Hop

Hello and welcome to my studio.

For today's blog hop, Tricia Traxler has challenged the team to use:

Patterned Paper

I have the great pleasure of using my favorite stamp set so far...
Bushel of Thanks

Illustrating stamp sets is such a joy for me!
All those years of drawing homework have really paid off, along with my love of Mary Engelbreit.

Although the, "bit of whimsy" I add is not even close to her artistic flair,
I do enjoy using markers and colored pencil like she does.

Here is another card I made recently with this set:

You can find the details for this card here.

Today's card images are indeed colored with Prismacolor Premier pencils and some
Distress Ink by Ranger around the edges and on the bunny.

I also used some Glossy Accents by Ranger to highlight the cabbages.

Everlasting Authentique pad
The patterned paper is by Authentique, and the beautiful blue is Color Made Easy,
both of which can be purchased in the Flourishes store,
along with this stamp set.

I used one of Flourishes' Exclusive Dies to make my sentiment tag.

Tailor-Made Classic Keyhole Die Set
