Friday with Flourishes

Hello and welcome to my studio.

I am so excited to be the Artist in Residence at the new Flourishes!
Every Friday our Senior Design Team is challenged by one of the designers on the team.

For today's blog hop, Rebecca Ednie has challenged the team to use:

Pastel Colors

I have the great pleasure of using one of my favorite stamp sets:
Must Be Santa:

Must Be Santa

Today's card images are colored with Spectrum Noir Markers with a bit of
Distress Ink by Ranger around the edges .

The beautiful blue cardstock is from the Color Made Easy collection,
which can be purchased in the Flourishes store.

The sentiment is a little poem I wrote to add to the
Christmas Sentiments Set

Here is the blog hop list for you to enjoy more creativity using Pastel Colors:

Teenie Ballerini

I have committed to two pastel paintings for the upcoming
Pastel Society of Central Florida's Winter Show.

This is my first painting for the show.

I have been in love with this photo ever since my daughter sent it to me.
It's my granddaughter, Nora Kate, climbing some stairs at a local college.

I used Rembrandt Soft Pastels on some paper my friend, Wendy gave me.
She has been such an encouragement.

My wonderful husband, George has allowed me to adopt one of our spare rooms
as a studio.  It's an organized mess, but to me it's heaven. It's my own playroom!

Finished and framed, ready for the show.
Thanks to my friends Kathy and Mike for the beautiful mats and frames they gave me. This set up worked perfectly for my, "Teenie Ballerini."

Happy Thanksgiving!

ZIA Shoes for My Grandaughters

Aren't these cute? I was walking around in Hobby Lobby before my trip up north to see my daughter and her family, when I came across these white shoes on clearance...my favorite way to shop!
Nora loves shoes, so I thought they would make a perfect gift for the two little girls.

I used Micron pens and extra fine Sharpies.  I tried to incorporate things they like...cats, ducks, lizards, bubbles...you get the idea.

This pair is Nora's  I especially like the way the lacy edge came out.

I also made a pair for my granddaughter Molly, who is six. Hers are lime green.  She put them on as soon as she got them.

This type of art is referred to as "ZIA".  It stands for, "Zentangle Inspired Art."

So much fun...so easy.

September is here...on to Fall!

Face 6

This is my youngest daughter, Rebecca. She is only 28 and has her own business...
I am so proud of her!

Here is my first step. I will finish a bit more hair and then post her again.

Thanks for looking...see you tomorrow,

Face 4

This is Face 2, "finished". My sweet granddaughter Lily.
I finally had some time to devote to really working on this.
I consider this ZIA (Zentangle [TM] Inspired Art.) I used Spectrum Noir Markers and a Micron pen.
Thanks for stopping by for a peek...see you tomorrow,

Face 3

Using the same picture of my granddaughter, I went for a mask type drawing. I usually draw very realistically, so this was quite different for me.

I used Spectrum Noir Markers and a Micron Pen.

I want to thank 29 Faces for stretching me artistically.

See you tomorrow,

Bev

Baby Nora

Nearly 1, Nora is my third granddaughter.
My daughter sends me pictures and videos, almost daily.
 I love her for that.

I drew this at the Art Group meeting last week. I am just starting to get back into my art.
I have lived here for almost 6 years, and have spent virtually no time doing any kind of Fine Arts.

Up to now I have been creating cards and holding paper craft classes.
You can find my sister site in the bar above...Artsystamper.com

This piece was done on a simple sheet of copy paper with a 2B pencil. I really didn't think it was going to turn out as a keeper, since it was my first endeavor in ages.
However, I am pretty happy with it!

I hope you will return to see more. Please follow me if you like, so you can watch me improve (hopefully).
