Flourishes Friday Design Team Hop

Welcome to my studio!

Today I am the host for Flourishes' Design Team Challenge Hop.

I challenged the team with

Use Autumn Colors

I decided to use my Fuji Mums set, designed by me, exclusively for Flourishes LC.

I used the smallest mum and petal images to stamp the background tone on tone
with Distress Ink by Ranger.

I stamped the Fuji Mum with Memento Ink, and colored it with Distress ink.
The background is spattered with more distress ink, watered down with my waterbrush..

I used strips of patterned card stock by Authentique, which is available in the
Flourishes store.

A bit of twine and some flower brads finish off my design.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Be sure visit all the hop stops, as the Senior Design Team had made some gorgeous samples!

Silver Mum

Silver Mum...Silver Mum...sounds like a song, doesn't it?

This stamp set was my very first released. That will always make it special to me.

Fuji Mum

The patterned paper and gray marker works so well together,
allowing the yellow accents to just shine!

Everlasting Authentique pad

I used "Fuji Mum" by Flourishes of course,

Glossy Accents and a bit of twine from my stash finish off this card.

The fussy cutting was kept to a minimum.
I simply used my paper trimmer to cut straight cuts,
and skipped wherever the flower overlapped the cuts. Then did the fussy stuff.
I added some Stickles to make the Fuji sparkle.

The black strips frame the design.

Thanks for stopping by. I truly appreciate you looking at my designs.

Flourishes September Release Day 6

  Hello! Welcome to my studio.

Today's card was made using a new stamp set called, Fall Tree.
The illustrator is none other than Lauren Pope.

I embossed the tree with clear embossing powder on white cardstock.
Using Distress Ink and a sponge, I rubbed the ink into the card stock, bringing out
the beauty of this intricate tree.

I then took a spray bottle of water and spritzed the background,
which left some nice watercolor effects.

The designer paper if from Authentique's "Nestled" pack.
The blue cardstock is from Flourishe's Color Made Easy collection.

So is the brown card stock that I used to make
a little round embellishment, and a mat for the image.

It has been so much fun creating for this release. I have
thoroughly enjoyed the other design team member's art.
Be sure to visit all of them!

Flourishes September Release Day 5

Today I am sharing a card made with the new set,
"Its All in the Details"

I used the corner stamp on a piece of  Authentique designer paper to create a square frame, which fits perfectly on a 6x6 card. I then combined it with, "Christmas Tree" one of the stamps in our store. Since the tree is sized for a 5x7 card, I masked my frame,
and stamped the tree off the edge so it appears smaller.

After inking the edges, I layered the paper onto gold metallic card stock

I stamped the sentiment (coming in a set next month...stay tuned) on a strip of card stock,
creating a banner by simply scoring, folding and trimming the ends. The edges are inked as well.

Gold glitter glue and golden gems from my stash finish off this card.

Here is the list of designers for this hop.

Flourishes September Release Day 4

Hello! Welcome to my studio...

Today I am going to share a card I made with my new set called,
Coastal Christmas, created exclusively for Flourishes

Since I live where we can go swimming on Christmas, this set is perfect for me.
If you have a cottage, or live in a warmer climate,
you may be one of the other folks who live without a White Christmas.

I chose the wreath for this card. I used colored pencil and
Zig Real Brush markers to color the image.
I love to use indigo blue and crimson pencil to shade.

To add a bit of whimsy, I decided to make the rope red and white
like a candy cane. However, this image could be used year 'round,
when done in blues or neutral tones...even embossed in gold...oooh!

I did use a bit of Glossy Accents on the starfish.

The papers are from the Authentique line for sale at Flourishes. This 6x6
bundle is entitled, Joyous.

Joyous

The dies are some of the Exclusive Dies from Flourishes.

I inlaid the die cut with the wreath, then popped the sentiment die cut
over the top of the inlaid die cut to give some dimension.

Flourishes Release Week Hop Day 3

Hello! Welcome to my studio.

This set was fun to draw.
I live where it is warm at Christmastime. Being from New England, I am amazed to see
Poinsettia bushes.  I also have a friend who "raises" Christmas cacti. Things grow like crazy here!

This set is called, Winter Blooms. We have all sorts of blooms here, but up north
the ones in this set are seen inside...in churches, malls, everywhere!

  Winter Blooms by Beverly Cole

I decided to use the Christmas Cactus on my card for today.
I used Zig Clean Brush markers to color, and colored pencils to shade.
Then I added some glitter.

Did you notice that I didn't actually fussy cut the entire image? I just traced an oval die over the image and cut around, leaving much of the fussy edge inside the oval. I inked the edge and daubed some Distress ink in the background.

Joyous

The lovely paper is from an Authentique 6x6 bundle entitled, "Joyous".

The cardstock is by Flourishes. The pack contains 3 shades of pink, which is how the, Color Made Easy card stock is packaged. I love that! I need variety in my life.

Notice the die cut layer behind the oval. I created it with one of Flourishes Exclusive Dies.
I use this die a lot, because it adds a nice accent behind other layers...
and that's just one way of using it!

The ribbon is from my stash. I love to melt ribbon with my heat tool,
as it makes it look old and worn.

I am the last stop on the hop. I hope you have visited everyone.
If you have not had a chance, here is the list so you can catch up:

Flourishes September Release Day Two

Hello and welcome to my studio!

Today is the second day of Flourishes' September Release Hop. The hop starts here.

Of all of the sets I made for this release, Bushel of Thanks is my favorite. You see,

I love Autumn,
I was born on Thanksgiving,
and
I think every cheesecake should be pumpkin!

The coloring here was done with colored pencil and Zig Real Brush markers.
the fruit had been shined up with some diamond glaze.

It was so much fun building my farm wall with the Authentique "Nestled" paper pad.

Legacy DesignnernPaper

I cut the papers into random sized strips (not into measuring),  inked the edges and stacked them.
I fussy cut the images, leaving a tiny white border to help them stand out from the
background. The pumpkin and gourd are popped out.

I used one of Flourishes' exclusive dies to frame my sentiment. Leaving the die in place
made it easy to sponge some ink onto the tag...love doing that!
