Floating Along on the Friday Hop

Hello, and welcome to my studio...

Today, Rebecca Ednie has challenged out Design Team to make an

Interactive Card

I am using one of my favorite sets...
Using beautiful card stock from the Flourishes store and alcohol markers, I colored both images
(there is one inside).

I embossed the background with a snowflake embossing folder and layered it on designer paper.

I used a die from the Flourishes store, and used some Distress Stickles
to make little dots.

It's difficult to see, but I sprayed the snowflake background with
"frost" Shimmer Spritz by Imagine Crafts.

Inside the card, you will find the little pop-up boat.
I used the snowflake embossing folder again, and another Flourishes Die to make the little frame.

Flourishes Hops with Imagine Crafts...Imagine That!

Happy Cyber Monday!
Welcome to my studio.

I am privileged to be included in the Imagine Crafts and Flourishes Hop!
I had so much fun experimenting with embossing powders and ink on this card.
First, I cut out a frame using Flourishes' Exclusive Classic Frames large die.
Using Delicata Pigment ink in Celestial Copper, I inked up Flourishes' Diamond Background stamp. I sprinkled half of the stamped image with Imagine Crafts' Verdigris Embossing Powder and half with Imagine Crafts' Clear Embossing Powder.

After melting the powders with my heat tool, I inked the edges of the frame with more of the copper ink, and embossed it with the clear powder.

Then I did something cool...I inked up the whole die cut
with a Brilliance Pearlescent Dew Drop Ink Pad in Beige. I heat embossed the die cut using the clear embossing powder again.

The flower image comes from the Winter Blooms stamp set by Flourishes.
The flowers are called, Paperwhites. I had never heard of them until Jan Marie asked me to illustrate this set. I researched and learned about them. Now they are one of my favorite winter flowers!

Winter Blooms

The Paperwhites are colored with Dew Drop Pearlescent ink pads in Beige, Poppy and Crimson. I stamped the three colors on an acrylic block to create a sort of, "palette", then used my waterbrush to paint the flowers.

The sentiment is from the set entitled, Christmas Sentiments.

This set was fun to create...I even wrote a little poem for it!
The sentiment is stamped with Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink, onto a die cut
from the same set mentioned above.

Hopefully you can see the Imagine Crafts' Shimmer Spritz Sparkle
I added to the entire surface of the card. It give it such a festive touch.
I have another card done with Imagine Crafts and Flourishes...

You will find more info for this card HERE.
Here is the blog hop list for you to enjoy more creations made with Imagine Crafts products and Flourishes stamps, inks, papers and more.

Christmas Red

Hello, and welcome to my studio...

It is Friday, which means it's time for our Design Team Challenge Hop!

The beautiful Naomi Gong has challenged us to make our cards,

Red as Poppies

Here is the stamp set I used for my card.
Must Be Santa

Using beautiful card stock and designer paper from the Flourishes store, I layered some red patterns and brown card stock, then cut a frame using one of Flourishes' Exclusive Die sets.
I also cut out some cute images from one of the designer papers...too cute!

Next, I stamped Santa using Imagine Craft's Delicata Pigment ink in Dark Brown Shimmer. As this is a pigment ink, I was able to heat emboss it with some Imagine Crafts Clear Embossing Powder.

Santa is colored using Imagine Craft's Brilliance Pearlescent Dew Drop ink pads in Beige, Rust, Poppy and Crimson. I stamped some of the ink onto an acrylic block and used my waterbrush to apply the ink as a kind of "paint". Isn't he handsome?

Then I had some fun with the sentiment. As you can see in the stamp set, the complete phrase on the stamp is, "Guess who's coming for cookies?" Since I only wanted to say, "Guess who's coming?" I masked the part of the stamp I didn't want with a Post-it note, inked the stamp, removed the mask, and stamped, "Guess who's coming". Then, I masked everything but the question mark and did the exact same masking, then added the ? to the end of the sentiment.

I promise you, it was easy...just remember to remove the mask before you stamp!

It's difficult to see, but I sprayed the entire card with
"sparkle" Shimmer Spritz by Imagine Crafts.

Finally, I added some baker's twine from my stash.

Be sure to stop at all the Designers' blogs and the Flourishes store.

My Turn to Host!

Hello and welcome to my studio.

I am so excited to be the Artist in Residence at the new Flourishes!
Every Friday our Senior Design Team is challenged by one of the designers on the team.

For today's blog hop, it's my turn!  I have challenged the team to use:

Non-traditional Colors

I have the great pleasure of using the Year of Flowers 3 set
I used Patriotic Colors instead of the usual Christmas red and green, and I threw in some striped in the pieced background to add to the "theme".

Today's card images were masked and stamped with Memento Ink.
I colored them with Prismacolor Premier Pencils, blending with a blending pen.

The sentiment is framed using one of Flourishes exclusive set of dies.

a few sequins and some gold Stickles, ribbon and I'm done!

Here is the blog hop list for you to enjoy more non-traditional colored creations:
